As he is trained in different styles such as classical and
fusion, and as he have students that are both fresher and experienced, you can
certainly count on this man as a reliable mentor. Though personally Sandyman
has taken his time to emerge as an incredible tabla player that he is, he is
also very good in teaching tabla.
He got his training in Indian classical music after his
mother brought him to Kolkata for the training. Just at the age of seven,
Sandyman started learning Indian classical music. He completed the theory and
practical examinations on tabla. Nothing special happened during the initial
years, instead things gradually became harder. Just at the age of 14, Sandyman
returned to London when his father was very ill. Sandyman took admission in the
Rokeby University Stratford, but just before joining the college, his father
expired. However, he completed his degree in computer science.
Right from selecting vocalists to performing at the London
O2 arena multiple times already in his life, these are some of the
accomplishments that made Sir Paul McCartney and his wife heather McCartney
invite him for two private shows in the year 2003 at their residence and
thereby earn the reputation of being the youngest Beatles tabla player. After that, he performed in some more shows
out there. He will add this to his already impressive resume by hosting some
Asian TV shows.
Just at the age of 16, Sandyman debuted at the Royal Albert
hall, London. He performed there and from then on, he doesn’t have to look back
again. He also earned a considerable amount of fame in the Bangladeshi
community, where he commenced his music career.
Other than being a Beatles tabla player, Sandyman has also
worked with the leading music director Bappi Lahiri and has also performed in
different concerts with him. He has also worked with the Jazz performers in UK
and performed at various live concerts all over the world. He is basically
based in London and has worked with the best musicians of UK. He has also worked
with Indian composers and musicians and has gained a considerable amount of
reputation in the Indian music industry also.
